Saturday 19th October
Coastal Drive On Route 1
Today, we just decided to have a drive Northwards, up to Belfast.
We got out early, and stopped for a lovely McDonalds breakfast.
Salt & Fat. Help protect against the....er......cold....?
Anyway, the route North was littered with lovely little towns, and tons of pumpkin stalls.
This one sold lobster pots as well.

It was a beautiful afternoon drive home, following Route 1 all the way.
The colours of the trees were a warm orange/gold/red.
Everything was much more vibrant in the late afternoon sun.
We stopped at an old ‘Mom & Pop’ roadside diner called ‘Moody’s’.
It’s quite famous locally. Always busy, and very spit and sawdust.
Just what we love.
I thoroughly enjoyed a BLT, and Mark had beef and barley soup...
....which was delicious.
We arrived back to Portland, grabbed a hot chocolate and some doughnuts from over the road,
and climbed the squillion stairs to hunker down for the night.
