Out & About In Boston
What could be better than a 6:30 breakfast, when the World looks like this?
After our now regular breakfast and ablutions,
we walked down to the wharf to start our Hop On-Hop Off Trolley ride.
It really was looking like another beautiful day in Boston.

We rode the whole trolley circuit - to get a ‘lay of the land’, then jumped off at stop number 4
USS CONSTITUTION
(Old Ironsides)
Built in 1797, it’s quite a vessel.

We had a lovely snack of a shared Chicken Cesar Wrap and a Root Beer.
Wanted to take a lovely photo of Mark....but the wrap was SO delicious....

Back on the trolley, we started to feel a bit tired.....
so we had a quick stop at the Old State House...
watched the most ridiculous 6 minute ‘film’ about The Boston Massacre
(Which consisted of a large fabric screen, onto which random spotlights were shone, depending on which ‘character’ was speaking - with their awful Dick Van Dyke accents).
If that wasn’t funny enough....

Anyway, despite our dark humour, it has a very important place in American history.
The original American Constitution was read aloud for the first time from the balcony,
down to the throngs below.
I like things like that.
So, back on the trolley we go...and decided to go back to our little sanctuary.
“We’ll just have a little nap”.

About 3 hours later....we woke up!
Both a bit ‘out of sorts’, we decided to see if this very famous local pizzeria had any room for two hungry Brits.
It’s only a 2 minute walk, but the lines usually stretch around the block.
It’s THAT popular.
As luck would have it....we were quite early (5pm), and there was only a few people waiting.
Got a booth within 5 minutes.
Awesome.
Spit and sawdust, plastic cutlery and paper plates,
But so lively and noisy. Brilliant.
The food was FABULOUS!

And as we left, the queue was starting to form.
We got there just in time.
