Wednesday 17th October
Train to Salem & The Lion King
Nice early morning again, Brazilian breakfast again.
We’ve really settled in here - which is a shame, as it’s our last day in Boston.
So, it’s time to take the train to Salem.

So, it’s time to take the train to Salem.
Well, there’s no way around saying it - this place is full of weirdos!
And clearly, add the word ‘witch’ to something, and you can double the price!
Ah well, I read The Crucible at school. It would have been rude not to come here.
The Salem Witch Museum was basically a tableaux presentation of the story of the Witch Trials,
followed by a gift shop.
An expensive gift shop.

We also dropped one of our return train tickets, so it cost $40 to get to and from the place.
Still, we stopped for a coffee and ticked the box.
We’ve been to Salem.
Next trip was back to Boston, and down to the famous Fenway Park, home of the famous Boston Red Sox.
Of course, it wasn’t to visit Fenway Park....
....it was to spend an hour playing the expensive Taylor guitars in a shop opposite.
Not everyone’s idea of a great holiday...but right on point for us!
Very enjoyable.

As the sky began to cloud over - as forecast - we caught the T down to Chinatown,
and back to yesterday’s superb restaurant.
Chicken curry and fried rice.
Hit the spot perfectly.
Then, after killing a delightful hour in a comfy Café Nero, it was over to The Opera House,
for the stage show, The Lion King.
It was excellent.
Chatted to a few folk in there, including a lovely usherette called Debbie.
Very nice night, marred only by the grim, rainy weather when we came out.
Train was ok, but the 10 minute walk back to our little home was wet and cold.
Made getting ‘home’ feel even sweeter.

Saw this in the Opera House toilets though.
Made me smile...
