Thursday 31st October
Happy Halloween
A slightly damp morning showed a slight improvement after breakfast,
so we drove over to the Cinema complex nearby,
and bought our tickets to see the new Terminator film tonight.
We opted for the 4D Motion seats.
Probably a good idea to eat our nachos quickly!!
We then drove over to Farmington, and to the house of Mark Twain.
Tours of the house are by guide only, which normally elicits a sigh of frustration from us,
but in this case, it turned out to be much more interesting than we could have made it
if we’d have just wandered around aimlessly.
To be in the room, and see the desk where he wrote
The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn,
was actually quite exciting.

And what made it even better, was that Mark Twain (Or Samuel Clemens)
and his wife, actually purchased the land to build the house from the mother of
Harriet Beecher Stowe, who’s own house (where she wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin)
was the next house along.
How cool is that?

After having a light lunch at the Mark Twain house
(just a sandwich and a packet of crisps),
we drove home, let the rush hour die down,
had a relax, and then, at 6:30, we zipped back to the cinema.
Terminator : Dark Fate
was waiting for us!
And what a great experience!
The film was ‘as expected’ (great but predictable)
but the fabulously comfortable recliners, the excellent ‘motion’ addition,
and the quality of the audio and visuals,
made this a great evening.
The nachos were nice too!!!
