Wednesday 23rd October
Montpelier, Vermont
We woke up this morning to heavy rain,
but not heavy hearts, as it wasn’t cold, it looked beautiful,
and the sound of the rushing river at the bottom of the garden was exhilarating.
It was time to pack up from this amazing place.
We’ve enjoyed it here.

And this is why we have to rent a Monster Truck....
They really do some weird Halloween tableaux.
So the journey began.
Just about 2 hours through amazing orange foliage.
The weather also turned a corner, and it was sunny most of the way.

We stopped halfway in a town called St Johnsbury.
We made it to the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium
just in time for the 12:30 ‘sky at night’ show.
I loved it....but Mark thought it was the most boring 30 mins of his life. Haha!
We then had a walk around this bizarre anomaly of a museum,
the entire ground floor being a collection of stuffed animals.
Again, I loved it...
...but Mark has now said that he wants prior vetting of any museums we visit!!!

Be awed, be amazed, be bored stiff....haha!
We stopped at a little town called.....Littleton...
and went to a lovely guitar shop to play some guitars for a while.
Always good fun.
We stopped a bit further along at a little diner called
The Three Ponds.
Very bistro-ish, and very nice.
BLT, and Cheddar & Brocolli Soup.
Finally arrived at our new house in Montpelier.
It’s very old, and very quirky.
We love it.
Had a nice Mexican dinner at Julio’s.
Out and about in Montpelier tomorrow.
